Roots

For me, woodworking begins with trees because trees make everything possible for us.

I grew up in the woods of New England, where tall pines, shady oaks, and sturdy maples were my first classroom.

Years later, the coastal redwoods completely rewired how I think about the scale of life and time.

That reverence still guides the work: looking closely, moving slowly, and letting the material lead.

My first shop was a basement. My first projects were gifts. My first realization was that woodworking gave my hands a way to say what I felt.

Solid Ground Woodworks grew from the belief that ordinary objects can hold extraordinary meaning.
